On Saturday, April 10th, a Polish airplane carrying the Polish President and his wife, top Polish politicians, members of Parliament, top representatives of the Polish armed forces, and many religious and social leaders, crashed taking a heavy toll of 96 people's lives.
The catastrophe took away the life of President-Lech Kaczynski, a noble statesman who devoted his life to fighting for the freedom and prosperity of our country and many eminent Polish leaders and authorities, who were serving their motherland, Poland.
After the initial shock, the whole nation merged in unusual deep silence as the Polish people gathered in cities and villages, turning inwards, praying, offering flowers and lighting candles. Many say that political and social life in Poland will never be the same again.
Such scenes carry deep lessons for all of us – lessons that are already visible in Polish social life and media. Divisions, conflict, ill will, and negative feelings disappear, giving way to feelings of unity, brotherhood, love, respect and appreciation of one another. These feelings of closeness and universal concern remind us of the real meaning of life, the deeper truths of our society. We witness an emergence of real human and spiritual values, which are shared by all.
In such a deep experience of life’s unfolding mysteries, we the students of the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University and our friends connect in meditation with God, the One Eternal Source of Strength and Light. We send our heart-felt feelings of support, love and peaceful thoughts to the departed souls, their families and to the whole Polish nation.
Between now and Saturday, April 17, we will hold an evening meditation from 7-8 p.m., devoted to these souls, their families and the Polish nation.
